Jordan Achieves One-Third of Climate-Responsive Investment Program Objectives

A recent World Bank report revealed that Jordan has achieved one third of the objectives of the Jordan Inclusive, Transparent and Climate Responsive Investments Program for Results after four years of implementation, reflecting an increase of six percentage points over the past six months. The program, with a total value of USD 900 million comprising USD 500 million as the initial loan and USD 400 million in additional financing, aims to promote investment in climate responsive projects, improve the business environment and enhance transparency in public investment management. As of July 28, 2025, a total of USD 500.16 million had been disbursed.

Jordan Achieves 17% Progress in People-Centric Digital Government Program

The World Bank has confirmed that Jordan has achieved 17 percent progress in the implementation of its People-Centric Digital Government Program during the first six months since its launch on March 26, 2024. The program, which will continue through June 2028, aims to enhance the delivery of digital public services, promote inclusivity, and improve institutional performance.

Promoting Sustainable Tourism through Site Management Planning in Jordan

Consultation with Association-Affiliated Nurseries to Advance Childcare Reform in Jordan

As part of the Enhancing Women’s Economic Opportunities (EWEO) Project in Jordan, and within the scope of expanding access to quality childcare services, the World Bank, in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), held a consultative session on July 15, 2025, with representatives of nurseries affiliated with civil society associations. The session focused particularly on nurseries that received support from MoSD since 2023 to establish childcare centers in accordance with approved standards.

Consultative meeting to follow up on e-waste management plans

Building on the first meeting held in March 2025 at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC), which marked the first step toward developing an approved l e-waste management plan under the Jordan People-Centric Digital Government Program for Results, a follow-up consultation was held on 9 July 2025 to review institutional plans submitted by government entities. The adopted plan includes the design, consultation, and regular monitoring of the e-waste management framework and relevant SOPs, aligning with global best practices and national regulations.

The Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in partnership with the World Bank and in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC), and Naour Municipality, conducted a field visit to two pilot bus stops located in Naour and Um Albasateen. The visit aimed to assess the current conditions of infrastructure, safety, and accessibility at the two stations, as part of the implementation of the National Framework and Action Plan for Enhancing Women’s Safety and Security in Public Transport, developed under the “Enhancing Women’s Economic Opportunities (EWEO) program”.

Stakeholder Consultation on Draft Instructions for the 2025 Good Regulatory Practices and Impact Assessment Bylaw

The Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation held the first meeting of the government working group responsible for drafting the instructions for the Good Regulatory Practices and Impact Assessment Bylaw, in collaboration with the Regulatory Impact Assessment Unit at the Prime Ministry, and with the participation of relevant entities, including the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Finance. This effort is based on Article (5) of the bylaw approved by the Cabinet earlier this year.
