TOURISM SECTORAttract international visitors, increase interest from domestic tourists, and regain job and firm creation momentum.
Tourism is the new pillar that was added to the Reform Matrix as part of the mid-term review in 2021.
This sector is an economic powerhouse that can improve the lives of millions. It is one of the great service sectors of the 21st century economy. Confidently, Jordan's tourism sector is firmly anchored to some of the world’s most unique and iconic assets, also its appeal to a wide range of luxury, adventure, wellness/health and eco- travellers and its yearlong season. In addition to its strong potential for higher female labor force participation and inclusion of local communities.
This pillar aims to drive sector competitiveness through enhancing natural capital sites, improving resource efficiency, and adopting best practices for climate change mitigation. It also seeks to diminish and eventually eliminate traditional seasonality which profound impact on investment and stability.
The public–private sector tourism partnership that nurtured in Jordan is fully in line with the cutting edge of best practice and it is the government intention to deepen and make it more effective so that it touches all levels of cooperation.
